Hey all, weird question, but not sure how to describe.

Lately I’ve noticed my BX25D w/ 200 hours seems to operate alright, but it seems to have a “slightly” different whine to it... and the exhaust doesn’t smell like that beautiful diesel smell. It smells likes when I’m pushing into a big dirt pile and straining the engine/loading it up...

I’m going to complete 200 hour service in the next week... wasn’t sure if this symptom could be resolved by that... or if maybe fuel filters could cause something like this? Doesn’t seems to have any less power or anything from what I can tell... but haven’t worked it too hard this winter. Spring coming it’ll be a different story. :)

May just take it to dealer and have them check it out... should still have warranty on it.

Thanks all

Any correlation with an additive? The exhaust on my 3560 smells funny when I add a fresh dose.

Does your HST fan have all its blades? My BX started having a smell about it when it was worked but not really that hard. I found the HST fan to nothing but a hub with no blades. After I replaced the fan I no longer noticed the smell.
