I have a 2012 BX25 with 425 hours. The motor starts quickly and is very responsive to throttle inputs. The tractor rolls freely when in the neutral position. However, when I activate the pedals to move either forward or backwards, the motor dies instantly. Hydraulic fluid is not low. I changed hydraulic oil and filter about 25 hours ago. This is a new problem, tractor operated normally the last time I used it, last week. It feels like a linkage switch/electrical problem. Does anyone have insights or related experience?

i have never owned a BX tractor but assuming it has a seat switch (occupant safety switch) I would start by trouble shooting the switch as it may not be sensing a person sitting on the seat.

I’m guessing you have a safety switch issue.

First guess is seat switch, as the tractor doesn’t “know” someone is in the seat when you try to move. (@MapleLeafFarmer and I were typing at same time)

Switches can go bad, but often just need a little "tinkering" so they make full contact and close fully. Sometimes just get out of adjustment/alignment with use, or need a little "shim, bushing or spacer" added due to wear over time.

My seat switch is a little different design and is under the seat cushion. Things shifted around over time, and I had to stuff a piece of cardboard to fill the void so the switch would fully close when I sat in the seat.

Switches are easily tested with a multimeter to make sure they are operational. Mine tested fine; it just would close fully until I added the cardboard "shim."

If you don't have one, get a workshop manual at www.kubotabooks.com

Illustrated Parts Diagrams (and current part #'s) can be found here Kubota Tractor Corporation - Illustrated Parts List . The Safety Switches are in the "Electrical" Section of the Parts diagrams.
