New 3 point assembled and installed. New Land Pride brush cutter installed. Drive shaft on Land Pride has a spring loaded lock ring that is pushed forward and . Once it is in place it
on. Problem is : drive shaft will not stay on PTO splined shaft. I have put in on about thirty times, my back hurts, my legs hurt, my arms are bleeding. The spring loaded lock ring is very stiff and hard to hold forward long enough to get it onto the pto. It never clearly snaps into place. I m ready to call the dealer tomorrow and ask them to come out and take a look.
Any ideas..
thank you
Joe

General info, I don't know your equipment.
Generally the shrouds on the drive shafts either rotate and unlock, and slide back out of the way, or have pins or clips (plastic or metal) so the same can happen. Once the shroud is completely out of the way this gives you access to the PTO coupling and locking pin that needs to be fully engaged on the shaft.
The pin needs to be depressed to slide onto the shaft then released when it fully engaged, otherwise it will continue to fall off. Post a pic of your shaft and shroud/coupling if you have more problems. If it a ring, same thing, it has to slide on enough to fully lock into place.

Is you pto shaft long enough allowing full extension so it can fully lock on? Also measure internal coupling and shaft to ensure enough depth to fully engage. Also inspect for burrs on the shaft or in the coupling, if it's come off already, then burrs may be hampering your attempt to get it on fully.

If your shaft is a bit short, on full lift or full lower it may pull the coupling off if it is spring ring retained.

So, I took the front drive shaft to the dealer today. Had a defective latch where it locks onto tractor driveshaft. Dealer gave me new one and away we go.
Thanks for the replies amd help.
I am posting my next questions thread next
