After using a PTO shaft extender for a external Hydraulic pump, notice a metal ring between the pto housing and the extender unattached to anything. No score marks or damage to either the PTO housing or the extender. Now the seal looks ragged and the PTO leaks fluid.
Diameter of ring was larger than pto shaft seal and it did not come from pto shaft extender, as that is still in prime condition. Very few hours on unit and one of the few times I have used the the rear pto. But it only takes once for something to pop out or become damaged. Ring was not a snap ring but a complete ring.
1) How hard is it to replace the pto seal?
2) Any ideas where the ring came from, if it came from the BX2360?
3) Winter time repair or take it to dealer?
