Since I bought my BX23D, the engine would cut out while the tractor was in motion because the seat safety switch was positioned too far from the seat base plate. I'd used rubber sheet as a spacer between the seat and switch, but it kept falling out. So today I stared at it for a while and thought about modifying the switch base to bring it closer to the seat. I removed the bolts for the switch and was pleased to see that the switch mounting plate has slightly slotted holes, which is what I was planning to do to solve the problem. Moving the switch all the way toward the seat closed the resting gap from 1/8" to ~1/16". That's all it took!
