Working on a bx2230 and got nothing when trying to start the tractor! Nothing lights up , no lights work ! Nothing! Checked battery voltage and have 12.77 volts! Got 12 volts to the back of the key switch! I do have an electrical schematic but can not trace out the issue for the life of me! Any help on where to start would be appreciated ! Got me stumped!

I'm with shelkol. I'd expect a bad connection or a bad battery. A bad connection or a bad battery can introduce sufficient resistance to prevent the needed current flow.

A battery can read full voltage with no load, then dip to almost zilch with a load applied. This is demonstrated when trying to start a vehicle with an almost kaput battery or poor connection. Hop in, turn key and the dome light goes out. When the dome light is the only load, the battery can provide the current to light it. When you twist the key and a real load appears, the battery can't produce enough current.

Not sure on the 12 volts coming out of the switch! Have to figure out which terminals on back of switch are sending voltage out!
Typical main switch has 4 terminals, one in and three out. Turn the key to start and you should get 12V out of each of the terminals. Since you state that there is voltage to the main switch and nothing happens I suspect it is a bad switch or the connections (plug) are corroded.

Red is voltage in (you said you have 12V there)
Yellow highlighted is key turned to "start" position. Should get 12V out on all connections.

Additional things to check on a BX2230:

There is a fuse block just above the battery and near the instrument cluster. The wiring harness/fuse block feeds most everything on the BX. While you may have to stand on your head to see it, this should be checked for bad connections, fuses and wires. Does the wiring harness appear to be original or have there been cuts or splices that are now causing problems? Any evidence of mouse damage?

Also, there are safety switches for the seat and pto that could be defective, misadjusted or with wiring gremlins.

The electrics on a BX are pretty simple, but problems can stiil be hard to trace. Hope you get it figured out!
