Bx2230 battery retaining bracket question

The battery retaining bar (that runs across the top edge of the battery) had a long rubber piece on it that fell off. I want to glue it back on the bar correctly. One side of the long rubber piece is open and other isn't. This gal would appreciate your help (pics of correct placement would be very helpful) Thanks.
