Bx2230 3 point hitch / MMM won't raise

I just bought this last weekend and it has 600 hours on it. I used the rear hitch to box blade the driveway, (worked fine, deck would move up and down with rear hitch) then I removed the FEL. I hooked the hoses up just like stated in the manual (3 hoses). I mowed the front yard and was going to put the tractor in the garage and noticed the MMM nor the rear hitch will raise. The mower height is set on 3" (very hard to turn for adjustment), and the fluid flow lever is all the way open. Throttle is fast.

Any ideas? I'm new to this so I am hoping it's an easy fix.

Thanks

Also, will it harm anything to continue to mow with it until I figure it out?

Yes you either already have or will damage the pump, it's dead heading.
On one of the lines you removed there is a second Quick connect further up the line, remove it from the valve go back to the tractor and install the line back in it (one end will fit another line connection that went to the loader valve) will create a loop and allow the hydraulics to work again. ;)

Thanks, that IS how I hooked it up. The first line unplugged from the top of the loader and looped to the second port on the tractor. The third port on the tractor is then capped.

If you have it hooked up like that and it's still not working, double the connections, maybe take them off and back on as it sounds like one of the connectors is not opening. ;)

Does the three point work again? If not then one of the connections (power beyond) is either not connected or has a bad fitting.

If the three point does work again, did you remove any of the 4 lines that go from the Loader valve to the loader? If you did double check that they made good connections.
It's not uncommon for there to be air in the lines, cycle the loader control several time in either direction.

Three point still does not work. I did not disconnect any of the 4 lines to the loader valve. The power beyond fitting does clamp on, but there's a bit of play in it.

I put the FEL back on and now everything works. Wolfman, do you still think that it's a coupler? If so, which one do you think it is? Thanks

Yes it's a coupler, probably the one that felt loose.

I contacted Messick and was told they no longer make the couplers for the BX2230. Told me I would have to replace both male and female ends with the new version. What kind of cost am I looking at for a job like that? I'm assuming I'd need to replace the female on the power beyond, a male and female on the FEL and a male on the return port.

Figure out what size line that you have and buy them off EBay, way cheaper!
Pull one of them off and take the fitting with you to a hardware store or a Lowes or HD and see what size pipe fitting fits it, If none do you might have too get BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper) to NPT adapters.
Note: If it is BSPT threads, NPT will fit in slightly then bind as they have the same thread count and size just a different taper to the threads.
I can point you in the right direction if you need those too.

My guess would be that you have 3/8 couplings, look at flat face they work like a charm, and yes replace them all while your at it.

$16 a set

The problem with these couplers is the male spigot is too long to fit in the standard off the shelf female coupler, it bottoms out before latching. That's why you need to replace both, but 2 nock offs are cheaper than 1 OEM, if you can find them.

I'm thinking the gentleman that on this before me and never run the mower with the loader off. It looks to me like the lines coming out of the tractor, the return and the reservoir lines may be switched. But, the corresponding couplers are switched also.

I'm assuming this because the hose (170) in wolfmans diagram is leading to the opposite side of the control box than in the picture.
