any help on replaceing rear axle seal does transaxle have to come apart or remove seal and unlock axle clip and remove axle

not much. lol

We had fluid running out of our left rear, so I learned a little. You have to take the tire and wheel off, then then axle cover, to pull the axle and replace the whole assembly. In our case, the seal had pushed out about an eighth, so all I had to do was tap it back into place... I'll see if I can find my post and send you the drawing someone posted to it, showing the assembly

I was wrong. Twice. No one sent it, I found it in the manual, and you apparently don't have to remove the axle cover.


I tried to do a print screen, then paste, but didn't work. I guess. this is the text that goes with the picture.

Rear Axle 1. Remove the oil seal (2), then remove the internal snap ring (4). 2. Tap out the rear axle (1) from transmission case or rear axle cover. (When reassembling) • Do not apply oil to the outer circumference of the oil seal.
