Hello, this is the first time I’ve tried to reach out for help so I’m going to be as specific as I can on this help post. My tractor is an old BX22D 2175hrs early 2000’s model pretty much the same as a bx2200 but mine has a backhoe and loader. I’ve owned it for 5 years or more. This is my issue. Every time I push into a pile of dirt or push a load it stops and grinds, then I let off and I can drive around but any load it just does the same thing. Doesn’t matter in 4wd or high or low range. no tire spin hydro fluid is full and was changed in the spring. My opinion is I have ground a gear down to the point where it’s just toast but I’ve also never ripped into a hydro static transmission before. If there is any advice or a good breakdown tutorial of what others have done I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

The propellor shaft (hydrostat input) shaft has two ball couplers on it that allow shaft misalignment. If the hst cooling fan stops when this happens, that's probably the cause.

I only know this from reading other folk's posts. Those couplers aren't maintenance points so, when the original grease is gone, they wear out.

This is the joints that @PoTreeBoy is talking about.

Another know cause is the coupling stripping and slipping.
