Ever since new a year ago this fuel gage or sender has been bad, always reads very high. Just before warranty expired took it into dealer and the sender was replaced. Same problem after that, always reads high. Ran out of fuel at 1/2 reading and 5/8 reading. Even though the gauge does a quick "dial to zero" at start, and then full or near full, dealer apparently thinks gauge is OK. I think gauge is bad.

Now is not under warranty (electrical) so I am resigned to looking in the tank periodically and doing the old fashioned way, while gage reads near full.

Any ideas?

I am assuming the tank on the BX models are the same. I have a similar issue as you, but not nearly to that extreme. I wonder if this is a class problem....My BX2660 will read full for what seems like 1/2 the fuel, and then rapidly drops to empty. It will read full when there is about 2 gals in the tank. Thankfully to me it is still an indication of empty. I considered having my dealer replace the tank sending unit, and the gauge but decided not to.

After seeing your post, im kinda glad i diddnt. The tanks themselvs are not the greatest designs for level indicating.

Good luck, hopefully someone knows what the smoking gun is...

Nice to see it may be something not easily fixed due to that dumb tank situation. Where did that schematic come from? I could use that info for other things.
