The fan belt has stretched about as far as it will go, and I need to put on a new one. Is the drive shaft going to be a bear to get unhooked?
What is the easiest way to change the fan belt on my BX1850 ?
Thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions,
Jim

There's 3 bolts holding the shaft to the engine. Remove them. You'll have to pry the engine forward just a hair to get the belt to slip through. It's not hard; engine's mounted in rubber mounts so it'll move a little-just enough. Slip the belt between the fan and shroud. Typical of all of the BX's, it's tight, but doable.

Thanks Lugbolt for the advise, getting the old belt off and the new one on wasn't to bad to do. Getting the belt on all three of the pulleys was the hardest part. :)
