I have 2000 Bx1800 with 1850hrs. The tractor will turn over (strong new battery) but will not fire up.I am getting a good amount of black smoke. I checked the glowplugs they are 1.0 ohms and working. Sometimes it would start normal other times it would smoke a lot then fire up.Now it will not fire up and run. When it would run it would run fine, no smoke. I cleaned the fuel injectors less than a year ago have ran tractor since. I have adjusted valves and have ran trator since. Could it be fuel injector pump? Can the fuel pressure be checked? Thanks for help!

If your getting black smoke it's being over fueled.
Only one part can do that BAD injectors.
Don't buy them off eBay or amazon as there is a rash of cheap bad injectors running around.

Have you check the air filter and path?

Have you checked compression on all 3 cylinders yet?
Wouldn't be a bad thing to know, but grey / white sweet smoke is low compression, where black smoke is over fueling, think of someone rolling coal. ;)

Where ? Kubota !!!

re: injectors 1 ohm . Is that EACH is 1 ohm or all 3 in parallel (connected) is 1 ohm ? There's a HUGE difference. !!!

please don't include me with the people that can't screw in a light bulb. I removed the glow plugs and tested. There is no substitute for experience, which I lack, but can turn a wrench. I have ordered parts from Messicks before. No need to be a smarta!!

Yes sir just figured itd be a good thing to know to help diagnosis. I have talked to many that associate black and grey smoke as the same thing.

Where to get injectors?
A dealer is the best bet if the price is right.
Other option is to take your injectors to a local fuel injection shop and have them tested and rebuilt.
If you don't have a local shop, Oregon Fuel Injection is my go to.

But like @Mountainman said perception might be at play here, can you take a video of it trying to start?
Because if it is more grey than black then you could have other issues going on.
And they are all right a compression test might be a real good thing to do.

I know you said you checked the glow plugs, did you check the power going to them?
Sorry if i missed that, They should get power before cranking and they should get power while cranking.

Yes on the glow plugs I have a momentary switch just for the plugs in case I was loosing amps through the old wire harness. I have adjusted the valves also.

re glow plugs..
You didn't say in your 1st post that you'd removed each one and tested them one by one......that's why I offered my comment. While they are 'simple' devices, they need to be properly checked.
There's a LOT of people on this website that don't know basic 'electrical101'. It is possible to test all of them when connected though. You should get +- 1 /3 ,so .333 ohms IF all are good. Anything mor eand well 1 or more are 'bad'. Then you have to disconnect them all to see who.
A 'rough starting' could be a sign of 1 or 2 kinda bad or burnt open glowplugs.

You could also have a weak glowplug. usually they'll draw 10 amps each and get really ,really HOT. Say one only draws 6 amps, it'll get kinda warm, so engine may have a tough time starting.

a lot of guys focus on glow plugs but IME glow plugs really aren't needed if the engine temp is about 40 degrees F or higher. I can remember many many times going out to the lot to get an 1800 off the yard (new) in the winter here, never using the glow plugs, and they fire right off; albeit a little smoky.

I still say, check compression FIRST.

I don't get it. BLACK smoke is produced when Diesel burns with inadequate air. So, it must be 'firing'. Are you sure you're not seeing white/grey 'smoke'?

I don't have adapter for glow plugs for compression test. I think North Idaho is right about the injectors. The tractor has only 1850 hrs with regular oil changes. It seems to much fuel .

Not all diesel engines are created equal and manufacturers wouldn't put them on if not needed. The BX series engine always have power to the glowplugs when cranking over and I know y BX23s starts better with 2-3 seconds of preheat.
I stored a Freightliner semi here for 3-4 years, would start it up for driver if he called. It always started yet did NOT have any glowplugs, even in dead of winter, and I never ever used ether.
