Back in February of 2009, my BX1500 developed a slow leak at the front axle pivot. The Kubota dealer replaced an O ring. Now here I am in January of 2010, less than a year later and its leaking again.
Has any one ever heard of this happening frequently like this?
What would cause this?

Thanks for the insight. This turned out to be a costly repair last year. Mostly for labor costs. Would I be within my rights to ask for a cost break from the Kubota dealer that repaired it?

A nicked seal when the replacement was done, or a burr on the cast flashing of the housing itself.

A second repair is in order, ask your dealer to take a good hard look at that housing before if goes back together to see if there is a bit of slag in the casting that's wearing that seal out.
New to the forum as I was looking for this same fix on my BX1500. This don't look to bad a replacement on the explode diagram. Are those replacement bushings hard pressed in? What does it take to get that outer ring out? the one holding the O ring in.
Thanks
Jeff

The bushings are pressed in, I used a tap threaded it in then a long punch from the opposite side tapped them out then drive the new ones in. It's not a difficult job I also gave the pivot bolt a half turn as it had a slight amount of wear on it. You might want to consider installing a vent on the housing.
