BX Snow Blower Question

I know when I use the snow blade to clear my roads, it stears better without the backhoe or any weight on the back. Question with a front mounted snow blower BX5450HD does it steer better with weight ON the back or OFF?

The tractor will "steer better" with the front end loaded by the blower, but you might run low on traction out back.

It's best to think about "balancing" an over hanging front end load, just like putting suitcase weights out front when carrying heavy implements out back.

BALANCE!

The front axle will thank you for it.

I carry a rear blade all winter when the blower is on the front. I use the rear blade all the time anyway to pull snow away from the buildings or other areas where I don't want to run the blower.
Normally when using the blower the hydraulic lift is in the float position, if I lose steering I just bump the blower out of float and raise it just enough to regain steering. As soon as I have the tractor going the way I want it to, I put the blower back in float. It usually only takes a couple of seconds with the blower weight on the front axle to get control. Raising a blower for traction probably works better than raising a front blade since the front blade is angled and continuously pushing the front of the tractor to the side.

The back hoe is substantially more weight than the blower. Try balancing the weight front to rear. Worked really well on my little tractor.

Ditto this. GF speaks true! "just enough to to regain steering"!!!!

Operation is a balance act as well!
