So Ive posted before that I bought the Bxpanded kit to check my BX's pressure two years ago. I came up with 1750 ish back then and just left it alone. Well today two years later I figured I would check it again and came up with 1750 again! Hmmm no change in two years and Ive done a lot of loader work with this machine. I thought well hell Im gonna goose it just a little bit!

When I looked I found my machine already had 2 shims in it from the dealer! I added the 3mm shim that came with the kit to the existing two shims. With 40 psi per 1mm I should gain 120 psi increase with the 3mm shim which should get me approximately 1870 psi! Installed the 3mm and checked the pressure and got 2000 psi! WTH? A little too much for me so I removed the 3mm and put in the 2mm to reduce the pressure a tad, checked it and still got 2000 psi! OK! I removed the 2mm and put in the 1mm, checked it and STILL 2000 PSI !
Ok so I removed the 1mm and went back to the way it came from the dealer with the two original shims! The original two shims gave me 1750ish. Checked the pressure one more time and........2000 PSI AGAIN!

My guess.... whoever put the two original shims in my BX23S at the dealer didnt snug/seat the bolt all the way which gave me 1750 instead of 2000 but when I tightened it (not gorilla over tight) it gives me 2000 psi. Just a guess!

So my next question is there a torque speck for that bolt that anyone knows of?
I cant imagine it has to be too tight it does have an o ring on it.

Did I tighten the bolt too much? Odd all the readings were 2000 psi? Maybe that is the max you can set the machine at? Im perplexed!

Anyway I went from 1750 to 2000 psi just by snugging the bolt!

You should index the bolt before ever removing the first time so you know you don't over tighten or under tighten where it was originally.

Do not be afraid of 2000 psi ............ I know - I know, if Kubota wanted it that way ..... they would have.......

The real reason is they (Kubota) does NOT want to produce more lift than the "operator" can handle!!!

SO - if you are "careful" - you will not flip the tractor nor do anything with the extra 10% more lift capacity that you get with the shims.

I shimmed mine to 2000 psi about 7 years ago - never one problem........ but I do understand your thought processes.

Maybe the spring turned a certain way once tightened .......... as nuke said - indexing the original would have told you were it should return to after the shims are placed.
