Hello all,

Been following the forum for the past few months as I contemplated buying a BX Series for the acreage. I found a fantastic deal on a 2021 BX 2680, with only 100 hrs on it, 60" Drive Over MMM, Turf Tires, and fitted with the hydraulics and controls for a loader. The only issue, it does not have the actual loader. Previous owner bought it new like this, and mainly used it to mow his property. The tractor itself is in great shape and the price, well its only 9K. I havent even seen a 5-10 year old BX in that price range with or without the loader. I understand that no loader drops the price a bit, but question is, where do I find a loader? I will be using it to mow obvisouly, and I will be getting a box blade for it, as well as an auger to build a 100+ post fence. The loader will definitely be needed, as I need to clear the property of some dense brush and small treelings.

I have looked for aftermarket options, and they are either difficult to find and/or out of stock. I am assuming its been like that for a few years now. Does anybody have any leads or info on the best way to obtain a loader for it? Will Kubota sell me a la340 loader outright? I am no doubt going to buy this BX, whether I get a loader for it or not.

Thanks!

I think you really need to call a local dealer - they "should" be able to get one for you.

Since this is a new machine - it should be easy, but hold on to your checkbook - it might be 3k or more.

Get one at the dealer. Skip the more expensive “S” model, it’s the swift attach model with lots of little finicky parts to not work. The normal model is also very easy to remove. Although, make sure that the flat face couplers on your new to you tractor will also fit the non-S model. The dealer will know.

Nice find for the price. You’ll be saving about $10k vs new.

Just occurred to me the SSQA and bucket are likely additional items to the FEL, in which case, the cost of a complete, usable FEL maybe another $1500 or so.

I figured that this would likely be the best option, since its still a marketed platform. The previous Kubota dealer I went to was not helpful in any ways. I originally went to price a new one, stood around for 10 minutes before confronting someone myself, then they proceed to price gouge a new one with attachments. Never thanked me for the oppotunity and never called back about the interest in one. Going to try another dealer thats an hour away instead of 15 minutes.

As for price, I fully understand that it will be 3-4K. That would still put it at less overall cost over a new one.

I owned my BX2380 for over a year before I bought a loader. ( mostly snowblow with it)
I think I waited 4 months for one. It ought to be much less wait nowadays.

Definitely worth the wait.

Unless you are even more lucky than you are now, you likely won't find a lightly used loader collecting dust for a BX2380/2680/1880

At that price, I'd be on their front porch with an envelope full of money and my arm outstretched. Around here a deal like that would've lasted all of 15minutes and already be gone.

EDIT: 90% of folks definitely want the SSQA loader not the pin-on bucket.

Is this local? Have you looked at it in person?

Not to be a negative Nancy, but it sounds like a possible scam to me.
Yes its local. Not a scam by any means. Just an old guy who sold his land and the tractor now sits in storage.

Congratulations. You’ll enjoy it. Let the project planning commence!

I notice that it appears the upper portion of the ROPS is removed. I hope you got that in the deal. If not, call the guy back and see if it’s laying around somewhere.

You commented that the valve is already installed, so that is going to save you a lot of $$$$$$. From the picture, it appears that the loader was on the tractor at some time in the past, so I would check with the original selling dealer to see what happened to the loader that was installed. It might just be collecting dust at the dealership. You never know, stranger things have happened. Ask the original owner about the details of it being removed. The original selling dealer can also request a Certificate of origin from Kubota. they might assign it to the original owner and he can assign it to you. When I bought my Kubota used, the selling dealer handed it to me signed by them as the selling dealer, and left the ownership lines blank. This is the best way to prove your ownership of the tractor.

Nice SCORE !!!
Now, loader.... get the SSQA version ! The odds are good you'll want or need pallet forks a year from now and unless you have a big flat, level concrete pad, are in GREAT health and have lots of time, swapping 'pin-on' attachments IS a 'PITA'. None of us are getting younger, the older we get. for some reason stuff is heavier than I remember too.....With SSQA it's just seconds to swap stuff out

Buy your loader from a Kubota dealer.

Yes, it will be expensive and it will likely take awhile to before you get it.

I took the ROPS off, as it was installed incorrectly and wouldnt fold lol. Bolts were in the wrong position and I was more concerned about getting the deck level first.

The original owner bought it during late Covid, so there are a few things there that point out to me. Previous owner had no desire for the loader, just the mower. He had already owned a BX1880 and dunked it in his pond on accident. Wanted more HP and another BX, but the only thing he could find quickly was this 2680. What I am guessing is that the dealer removed the loader to fit his demands and move it from the lot. But a loader was definitely installed originally.

There was time where loaders of all sizes were not to be had.

At the time what tractors the local dealership has all lacked a loader. Size/model didn't matter.

I think (?) they all did have hydraulics/valve and subframes/mounts. Just lacked the loader itself.

Sounds like he got it during that time. Makes sense it's equipped as it is.

That's a great find, and sounds like you got it for the right price indeed! ;)

You can eventually find whatever you are looking for on either Craiglist or Facebook Marketplace. I found a practically new snowblower for the front of mine about 2k less than new. Takes patience and constant checking. Then jumping when the price is right. Good price on that 2680. Don't expect that to be around long.

It would be interesting to reach out to the dealer that sold it new. I think the loader is generally sold as a package with the hydraulics, mounting frame, the loader arms and bucket. Did the original buyer take delivery of a complete loader or was it sold as a non-loader tractor in spite of the mounts, etc? What was paid for? Probably all water over the dam now but you have wonder if the loader was bought and paid for but never put on the tractor.

It’s doubtful that the correct loader for that machine is available for sale used as a stand alone item. Tractors and leaders are sold together. The OP will need to order one from a dealer. Other types of implements are a different story.

I have seen backhoes that have been removed from BX23S tractors for sale on Facebook Marketplace for $3000 because the owner has no use for it, and thinks that it can be mounted onto any BX tractor. Basic lack of knowledge on the seller's part. I have seen some really beat-up BX23S tractors for sale on some auction sites that come from rentals, and they sell very inexpensively. The trick is to know what you are looking for and where to look. There was someone on this site who got a front loader replaced since it wouldn't sit level with the ground. Possibly he would sell his old loader that he bought back from KTAC for cheap money.

That is incorrect. If he purchases a BX2816, with attachment, it will hook up to his 2380 just fine.
