Can any one tell me the correct way to get the tractor running again after I replace the filters. I have 2 filters, one before and after the fuel pump..
It just seems like it takes a lot to get fuel back up to the engine.

Thanks

Jim

I have a BX1500 and with mine I just clamp off the line with a fluid line clamp but I have see some use vice grips. I leave it on until I switch both filters. After you remove the clamp there is a bleeder bolt at the end of the fuel line where it goes into the injection pump. Crack that bolt open a bit and turn on the key until you here the clicking of the fuel pump and tighten when fuel comes out. I am assuming you have a bleeder bolt on your machine. Below is a link to the clamp I use and a video for a BX2670 which shows the bleeder at about 6 minutes and 15 seconds in. Hopefully this helps.

Should just have to put key in the on position and it will bleed itself!

You do not need to "bleed" the system via a bolt/nut !!! - the BX will bleed itself !

once you finish the new install - turn key as you mentioned - listen carefully to the pump!!! it will tell the story..... the clicking and the noise as fluid is pushed out will change in the pitch of the small fuel pump.

Hold on for about 30 seconds - you will not hurt anything - this will pump fuel throughout and push all the air back into the tank via the bypass at the injection pump.

I guess I should refer to my manual more before I refer to youtube... Thanks Lever and Hokie - that will make my next filter change easier 👍
