Hi all, just wondered if anyone knew what damage would be caused if when the PTO is running, the PTO brake fails on please? We have had extensive (£6000+) damage done and since they rebuilt the transmission have found the PTO brake not disengaging , so have had the transmission removed again to replace the brake (another £1000)!
could the failing of the brake of caused the damage? Rear transmission cover split with associated damage to transmission case , shafts and bearings etc.
many thanks , Steve

hmm... what was the PTO powering ? I've never run the PTO on my BX23S in 7+ years, would have to look at what's inside to see how the brake works. Others will know but I'm wondering how it slows down very heavy loads ( like a wood chipper or bush hog )

Thanks for the reply. It was running a Trimax 150 mower attachment. I guy using it said it was lowered and on the ground and the PTO had been running for about 30 seconds before an almighty bang and the rear transmission cover disitigrated and spat oil ou🥺 so was just wondering if the brake failed would it instantly stop the shaft intern over stressing the out put shaft going through the transmission cover
