BX 1500 dies when put in slow or fast gear

BX 1500 dies when put in slow or fast gear. When I engage the drive lever to either the fast or slow setting the engine dies. I assume it could be the switch that is under the seat on the right had side attached to the lever. The plunger of the switch is released in either setting. Any other possibilities?

There are usually multiple safety switches, any of them could cause the tractor to stop (cuts fuel) when you put it in gear. Common switches are:
- PTO in gear
- seat switch (most likely culprit)
