Hello!!

Just joined the forum and searching for answers from you folks. I have never worked on a farm or owned a tractor, so please excuse me if I ask simple questions.

I am considering the purchase of a Kubota Tractor for my wife's village in Thailand, but have several questions. I have tried using the Kubota Global website to find the answers, but with no luck. It seems that the new tractors in Thailand run one series behind those in the USA. Each tractor is listed in their brochure with limited options and available implements.

The following are some questions I sent to Siam Kubota who produces Kubota products in Thailand. I tried to add the link but I need more than 2 posts...sux to be the newby :)

I am looking at a new M6040 or the M7040 utility tractor, but do not see the option to install a LA1153 front loader. Can the loader be ordered in Thailand?

Can the M7040 use the Rotary RX220H? Also, do you sell a BH-92 Backhoe, or any 3 point backhoe that would work with either the M6040/M7040?

Their response to my email mirrored what is already stated on their website. No options other than those listed.

I guess my big question is if I desire an implement, can it fit either the M7040/M6040 or would an implement have to be sized and recommended just for that model? Implements are a huge factor in buying a tractor because I need something that can do the work. I will primarily be farming rice, but also looking at sugarcane.

Thank you for your time,
Curtis Harris

The issue is Implements are made locally, so here in the US it's landpride and Woods that makes the implements for the tractors.

And the loaders are made in the US for US tractors.
Even some Canadian models do not have the same loaders as US models.

You probably will not be able to get anything Kubota for the tractor that the dealer can't provide.
And importing anything that large would cost you a fortune!

Now any three point implements: most Implements that are Cat II, will be sized and made for tractors in the HP range that will allow it to work.

And you do not want a three point BH, you will break something, you want a BH that is subframe mounted to the tractor.

Welcome to the OTT forum Curtis. You have come to the right place to get answers.

There are several members on here that live in Thailand and will be able to be more specific about what is available there but as for the information provided by Wolfman, you can count on it being 100% correct.

Thanks for the responses guys, I really appreciate it!! I have a steep learning curve!!

I was thinking that implements that are recommended for the M6040 would work with the M7040 since they are only 10HP difference and have the same frame and 3 point setup. It's just frustrating with the language barrier!!

Hope the Thai owners chime in!! Still saving money, but tough because I keep buying land. Figure the land should come before the tractor.

Cheers fellas and thanks again!!

It all depends on what you want to do with the land and how soon.

Normally, the more land you have means the more tractor you will need.

When it comes to implements, the HP range given normally means the minimum PTO HP for the tractor.

i.e. IF an implement calls for 50-100 HP then any tractor with a minimum of 50 HP and maximum 100 HP at the PTO will work.

Yes three point implements for the M6040 will work perfectly fine on the M7040. ;)
