I recently got the Kubota L2201 2wd and it came with a junk 4' bush hog. I would like to go bigger on the bush hog, but have not been able to find much on what it can handle. What is the largest bush hog the Kubata L2201 can handle?

General rule of thumb for a single spindle bush hog is 5hp (actual PTO hp) per foot. Maybe more like 6 to 7 if cutting really heavy stuff. Your tractor is about 22hp but that’s the engine, not PTO. Don’t know how much it has at the PTO. 4’ is probably about right. 5’ would be pushing it unless you’re in pretty light stuff. YMMV.

Really depends on what you want to do with it. I run a 4 foot brush hog with my L1500. In heavy brush or reed canary grass it's pulling hard in first gear and I need to lift the mower from time to time because I don't have live PTO.

On the flip side if I'm mowing knee high brome grass chest high sumac or clipping weeds I can run in 4th gear which is as fast as I care to go.
