hi all
Whilst i deal with my other loader issue i have found that my bucket rams rods are bent, not to the point where they wont slide(they slide in but only 3/4 ways then they stiffen up and i need to get aggressive with them) ,so enough to need replaceing sooner than later.
I have been looking into things it is going to be more cost effective to get replacements rather than service the originals etc, but my question is this guys.
Do i need to go with a 2 bucket rams, on a small loader setup which has a bucket capacity/payload of 460lbs (factory specs) would a single ram in the centre of the bucket work just as effectively, i assume it would need to be of the correct lenght etc and probably somewhere in the region of double the spec of the current fitted rams, well bore and rod dia anyway.

Or, is there another more technical reasons for the fittment of 2 rams over a single .

what do you think.

Good question Rob. Sure makes you wonder when CASE uses 2 bucket rams, whereas John Deere and Cat only use 1!!! I'm sure 1 would work, but like you said, the single would have to be rated to handle the max load of the bucket. You'd probably have to reinforce the bucket a little, as those bota buckets are a little wimpy in the middle. I'd go compare a JD and CASE hoe and see if there are any other mechanical/structural differences.
