I have a Kubota L245 Dt with the BT1200 FEL. I need to rebuild the hydraulic cylinders on the loader. I called my local parts distributor for pricing. (Mcallister of Indianapolis) The part number they gave me was WY 402-96540 and a price of $140.34 per cylinder. That seemed alful high for just the parts. I did a search online using the same part numbers with no luck. I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction to order online at a much beter Price. Also, Im trying to determine exactly what year this tractor is, The ID tag lists it as L245DT - 52290 if someone can tell me waht year shis model is I would greatly appreciate it. Many Thanks in advance

Greg

correction - This is not a BT1200 - this number refers to a backhoe attachment. The Tag on the loader reads Model 1200 serial number K - 8587 but i still cant locate correct part numbers PLEASE HELP!!

Greg, I have a manual for this loader, pm me with your email address and I'll send you a PDF of it. Have you considered going to a local shop and see if they can be rebuilt?

Like I said, pm me and I'll send you a copy of the manual.

I have the same tractor and loader. I had to reseal one of my curl cylinders and found the receipt. Part number 70050-00299, about $40. My manual says the lift cylinder kit is different, there is a hand written number of 70050-00301 on it. Can't verify that one though as I have not had to do those myself yet.

I don't think the $140 per cylinder is too far out of touch with reality. I just paid $90 for a 3X8" universal replacement with pinned U-brackets to modify my rear blade.
The FEL cylinder has welded sleeves on the body and ram, making it a custom deal, about 5" shorter overall than an off-the-shelf outfit.
Consider the much less expensive rebuild.

I found the part numbers and parts from Lashley tractor in Ohio. The lift cylinder is part number 70050-00301 ($49.99 ea) and the bucket cylinder is part number 70050-00299 ( $24.35 ea) with free shipping. now that is a much better deal. I figured I would post this info in case someone else needed the same parts.

Woops! I thought the $140 was for the whole cylinder, not just the kit. Sorry to have bothered you with drivel.

Welcome to the forum and Thanks a bunch for your contribution with this info. I have been back and forth with multiple dealers and about to have to spend a pile of money but you saved my efforts right here.

We just might keep you here...........:D :D :D lol
Thanks again.

Talk about being late for the party! :p :D
That post was from almost 3 years ago!

LOL :D
Yeah well that info was still good today so I was happy. You know how these lazy parts guys in the dealers want the customer to do all their work for them and then charge full list price for the parts. Well I had to do all the leg work for one such situation and this post got me the numbers I needed as well as the FEL model reference. My tag is missing and the dealer was too busy to find out what it is. I would think that AAAAAAAAAAll the years of Kubota experience at a parts counter would pay off well in such situations as this but I guess the humanity prevails.

Ok off my soap box..... :D:D :)

Dick I know this post is 8 years old but I have two leaking bucket actuators and hoping there is a chance a PDF of that manual can be sent my way.

If anyone else has the 1200 FEL PDF manual please feel free to let me know.

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!

Also late to the party. I have an L285 and am looking for the L1200 loader for it but am curious. Where does the hydraulics hook up since it doesn't have remotes?

It can tap into the hydraulic block under the seat - you will need a different block cover. Some were also run by a separate pump off the front of the engine, sometimes with a separate reservoir.

I got a seal kit from my local Kubota dealer and just finished the repacking of both front cylinders. VERY EASY JOB with the 1200 FEL manual and a little thought.

BUT FYI, the kit has a new designed "o-ring" for the pushrod compared to the diagram. The old diagram has a backing ring and traditional o-ring but the new one has a "square" o-ring/seal. I reinserted the backing ring because the new design did not fill the space. There are no instructions as to the direction of installation of the new design so had to wing it and in fact I might have done them in opposite directions to see if one was right (or wrong) Neither leak as of today and hope that continues.

Will get second set for future use and a set for the lift cylinders too... will call my dealer to see about that part number tomorrow...

My Hyd pump is mounted (four bolts) in front of the front axle and driven by the crank shaft via an extension shaft that runs under the radiator and battery. The reservoir is side mounted and holds about 5 gallons. The lift and bucket control valve is located just above the reservoir.
