I wish to purchase skid plates for my 2014 BX25D
I have looked at BXpanded and Bro-Tek products.
The cost of BXpanded with shipping, duties etc. double the price to Canada.
Bro-Tek is in Canada so will probably be my choice.
My concern is this, in viewing the product it looks as though the skid plate
seals in the bottom of the tractor and I wonderer about overheating.
Also will these plates fit with the small plate that came on the tractor.
Anyone who can comment on the potential overheating concern.
I am all ears.
Thanks for your time
Jake

I too was concerned with the issue of overheating and considered drilling holes in mine before installation, but I've had no issues with them on our BX2200 or BX2660.

My son-in-law broke the HST fan our BX2200 with the deck on, so I keep the back plate on mine with the MMM and full plate without it, so I didn't go with BXpanded's excellent product.

after breaking 2 fans I purchased the Bro Tek skid plate. I was also concerned about overheating. The service manager at the dealership wouldn't comment but my salesman-who used to be the service manager-said he would not hesitate about putting one on. Bro Tek was great to deal with and the plate was pretty easy to install. It is easier with 2 people so one can hold the plate up while the other is bolting it on. I installed it and used the tractor for about 4 years before trading it in on a B-no problems with it overheating. I'm so surprised that Kubota hasn't redesigned the fan or made it easier to replace.

OKM,

Kubota did place a smalllll shield on it in the 2013 year of the BX - it looks like it could protect the fan, but I too have some armor under mine.

Bro tec for me - because they had a plate you can remove (for air flo I guess if you wanted but for me to hook up a PTO shaft (snowblower)

Bought the front plate also. I have no worries of overheating. They don't seal the bottom air tight..... Again you could remove the pto plate for more air flo if you wanted.

I used a floow jack to hold my back plate up - in case you dont have another person handy at 11pm when you might be working on your tractor :)

I hear you on that one. 11pm in the garage haging out with the tractor. Cant see the wife coming out to hold it at that hour. She already thinks im a Retard. Powerwashing, waxing, patting, talking to it etc, etc:D
