Hello All,
I have a couple questions. I have a Kubota B8200 on loan to me from a friend. In exchange for using it I will be doing some needed repairs for him.
It has, 1----A KMW Inc front loader, Model K-91
2----A Brantly backhoe, Model MD8
Pertaining to the Brantly backhoe, it has a full length subframe mount for the hoe. It was probably put on later in the tractors life. As far as my research goes Kubota only used Brantly model LD6 hoes, new, on B6000 and B7100 tractors. On another tractor forum, I have found the PDF's for installation, operators, and parts sorta for the LD6 and MD8. A BIG THANK YOU to those who went to all the trouble of gathering and converting that info to PDF.
So after all this, to my questions.
1--Does anyone on site own a Model MD8 backhoe?
2--Does it still have it's original crowd/dipper cylinder?
3--Could I get the dimensions from pin eye to pin eye of the cylinder fully retracted and fully extended?
4--Could I get the dimension of the hoist cylinder pin eye to pin eye fully retracted.
5--This backhoe now has an incorrect crowd cylinder, my friend bought it this way. Since he has owned it, numerous times the rod has been bent. He has replaced the cylinder a couple of times and now just has a new rod made for it. He claims the rod gets bent while driving the tractor, as with the dipper arm fully retracted and tucked away, the bucket is fairly close to the ground. The dipper arm does NOT tuck up close to the main boom, it is almost straight up and down when tucked away.
6--So MD8 owner, whoever you might be, does your hoes dipper arm set as I have described this one when tucked away?
7--The incorrect cylinder we have is longer than spec, the stroke is 24", should be 22.5" and the rod is 1 1/8th diam, it should be 1 1/4 diam. I will be doing a pressure relief test soon as I borrow a gauge.
To ALL, Thank you for your time, Cap
