brand new 2650 use wrong fluid in oil

I accidently put the premium UDT into the oil today! big accident! trying to top off the transmission fluid.. added about 2 liters then noticed the oil dip stick and saw that.. drained the oil/mixture out. Instead of reading the manual my brother said its all the same fluids.. lol his tractor, not mine! I did run it for about 2 hours today without even thinking about the different oil. Temp was about -15C scraping hard packed snow off the driveway so cement trucks can get up tomorrow. I told my brother and he suggested just drain the oil and change the filter.. He didn't sound too concerned..

Any advice? the tractor has 10 hours on it

Before parking it tonight, I did notice a little steam coming out the exhaust.. no unusual smells.. However, some black soot on the loader from exhaust now

Drain the oil and change the filter and hope for the best.
There is 2 drain plugs on the motor, remove both to drain all the old oil.

I'll change the oil and probably take it back to the dealership for a once over.

So reading this - was the oil crankcase OVERFILLED? or did you drain it , then place new engine oil in it? OR run it overfilled? Two liters should push it way up there on the dipstick !

If the oil was overfilled and ran - it should have been "spitting out" - I have seen overfilled crankcases, the oil level line is there for a reason!

The changing the filter and the oil would be a good thing and quick - a new engine like that should be a little more suspect than one with 1000 hours on it. The engine being broken takes on a whole new meaning !

Now had you poured engine oil in the HYDRAULIC port ......dayum - that would be a cluster ....

after adding the fluid, saw the oil dipstick and saw it overfilled.. drained it to proper level and then used it for a couple hours...

changed the oil and filter this morning and seemed to be running good! Hard to tell it was -25 lol

I think I would keep the OOPS in the family, if you take it back to the dealer for a check up they will most likely stamp a big "VOIDED WARRANTY" label on it's file.

It is a lubricant after all in fact the only real difference is it has emulsifiers that regular oil doesn't have. The viscosity isn't ideal but for a 2 hr run in cold temps I'd say no harm no foul.

Take 2 buckets fill one 1/4 full of any hydraulic oil, the other with motor oil, use a drill to power a paint mixer and whip each one, then you decide if it will do damage.
Air trapped in oil is really, really, hard on bearings!

I get what your saying but I was pretty sure UDT was designed to not foam and seperate just like reg motor oil for the same reason that hydro pumps are not a fan of air...no?

The main difference between these two oils is the additive packages. I have seen the two switched many times but never any damage.

One operator used hydraulic oil for engine oil in several unit for 3 seasons until it was discovered. He had been told the oils were the same.We changed the engine oil in all six units back to 15/40 and to this day all run great.

I changed the oil/filter. Brother ran it for half hour the otherday.. I ran it for a good hour yesterday.. got stuck in deep snow on a steep incline.. worked it hard to get it out lol.. Worked great and seemed normal lol.
I checked oil dipstick and saw some tiny bubbles in it.. I think I may change the oil again... Hear a ringing sound but I noticed that since the beginning, didn't spend time to find the culprit.. My brother was wondering why it smelt like burning rubber.. It was always doing that ( is that normal? ) 13 hours on the tractor right now.. had that smell since the first few minutes.. I might add the mix I drained out was near black, I checked dipstick with new oil and was very clean and looked like fresh oil with exception to a few bubbles

Also white tiger, this is premium UDT i think its the equivalent to super UDT in the states.. I believe its a Hyrdolic/transmission fluid

The "ringing bell" sound may be your bucket. Mine is tuned to a frequency that resonates at certain RPMs when empty.
