The brake will not fully release (speed control will also not hold). Linkage is okay (confirmed by service tech) and he felt there was corrosion or maybe something broken inside case. However, somehow he got the brake fully released, but if the pedal is used -- it won't release on it's own (releases about 60%). I was a bonehead and spread a lot of salt the past two years and believe it's corrosion/rust/etc. What I would like to do is continue hitting it with PB Blaster for a few weeks every so often before I resort to hauling it to the dealer and spending a lot. I'm not super mechanically inclined, but am more than willing to try so... I would like to know where and how gain access to the point at which I need to spray the PB Blaster? I was under the tractor, but where the shaft enters the case I could not see --- can anyone pass along exactly where I need to add the Blaster?

Thanks in advance for any help.

There is not a lot to the brake or linkage on that model.

Check for this spring.

Wolfman -- awesome thanks. The spring is fine (or at least what I've been told and it seems okay) but the diagram is great and tells me where I might want to focus some lubricant. Thank you for this.

I would use a penetrating oil on the part #10 (in the BRAKE diagram) as it enters the tractor case.

After it frees up use a better spray lubricant or grease than PB Blaster rust breaker. I believe that PB Blaster does sell a spray lubricant/grease.

I will let you know how it works out.
