Spent the day and night at mom's after her surgery (minor).
The brain detected light and I woke up thinking the sun is up and I am running late. Damn. It is the middle of the night and this area has street lights. Woke up at three other times to the same issue.

Glad to be back home where if there is no moon the house is pitch black at night.

It is humorous but I have the same issue when I have to stay in hotels for business. There’s a reason blackout sleep masks are readily sourced.

For years, we kept a nightlight in the upstairs hallway so the kids could find their way to the potty if/when they needed to go....

Kids are gone, and we keep a nightlight in the upstairs hallway when dad and/or mom can find their way to the potty when they need to go......

At 0155 this morning we lost power couple times. The nightlight was off.

My first thought was I might need to go.....

There are many different kinds of these lights called Blackout Buddy, one we have is Canadian Red Cross however for our friends to the south the American Red Cross has their name on one. Another one we have in the main bathroom is a Sunbeam. Both are great when the power goes out at least you are able to see where you are going. Just plug them into any outlet to keep them charged for when you need them.

We came from a house in the city. So low level light bleeding through the kitchen blinds and front door were normal for us.

Well the first night in the camper was an adventure. We didn't realize it but the light switches in our camper are lighted 🤔🤔🤔 Every flipping one of them 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

The first night spent in the camper, we were so looking forward to it being dark 🙄🙄🙄🙄 That didn't happen. That blur light in our bedroom drove us bonkers 😂🤣😂🤣😂😂

Night number 2: I broke out the roll of electrical tape and covered the light switch 👍👍👍👍👍

We did leave the ones in the hall uncovered though. It's about similar to what we were used to living in the house in the city.

The bonus, is no need for a night light if you gotta go in the middle of the night. 👍👍👍👍

Bringing a Herk back to Robbins from Okinawa we spent the night on Kwajalein. Woke up in the middle of the night to an absolutely pitch black room. No idea where I was. Stubbed my toes and hit my shins on every piece of furniture while stumbling around the room before I ran into the curtains and let a little light in.
