Since I no longer work for a living I am getting back in the things that made me happy long ago. Now at Moms place I found my old Bear re-curve glass bow still hung up on the rack where I put it probably 30 years ago. Now I am wondering what might happen if I string the old gal up, and draw an arrow? I surely wouldn't enjoy getting smacked in the face by a shattered fiberglass limb:eek:, so anybody have any experience with old bows?

You could always give it a couple test bends before using it. Hold the one end between your feet with that end sitting on something that won't damage it. Grip the other end and push down with it bending away from you.

I would be more worried about the 30 plus year old string. My kid found my old compound and took it out for target practice when my wife and i were in town, and had the string snap after a few draws. Missed his face, but got his arm pretty good:eek:
