boot torn on drive shaft

i just bought a bx 2200, i noticed that the boot on the drive shaft that goes from the engine back to the rear end is torn and part of it is missing at the joint at the rear. should this be replaced ?

Yes, you should replace the boot.

Its a cv style joint so if the boot is torn the grease will come out and dirt will get in. Pull the floor pan off to access the shaft to remove it. Boots are about 3 bucks each
