Blew out the dipstick

OK to day and its warm in the 40s today,, went to haul wood and noticed that there was hydro oil over the rear hitch on the BX. I checked and it was down about a pint, so I added but the question is why would the dip stick pop out? She hasnt been run to much to build up pressure, at least I dont think it has. So anybody have an idea?
