My ZD326 appears to have crud in the left tank or the lines that go to and from it.

It's hard to get a siphon to the bottom. Is there some clever way to drain it?

I was thinking I would detach the return line and pump it out that way, but the fuel would have to go through both filters to get to the return line, and it seems like a bad idea to run more crud through.

I have one of those Harbor Freight oil suckers for car engines. The tube is fairly rigid. Maybe it will go into the bottom of the tank.

Maybe I should nlow the lines out before messing with the tank. For all I know there is a wad of crud stuck in one of them.

The manual says to replace the lines every so often. I wonder if anyone has ever actually done that.

They look perfectly sound.

Wouldn't you know it? I just ran the mower for a while, and it never bogged. Maybe Clear-Diesel ate the booger that was blocking the fuel.

Mowed the yard today, and the left tank eventually quit. I guess the diesel boogers were too much for Clear-Diesel.

Never heard of Clear-Diesel, how is it different from off road diesel?

Only seven bolts are holding the operator's platform on, three more holding the fender on. That reveals the fuel tank, which is secured with two bolts. There are 3 cushions under the tank, two under the front and one under the rear.

It can easily be removed and cleaned out.
Removing the hose from the inlet of the front fuel filter allows air to be blown backwards through the hoses to ensure they are clear. (With the selector valve turned to the LH tank, of course.)
