Installed a new input shaft and seal kit on my B6100e. Trickiest part was getting the two bearing races out. One goes into the cast iron case, blind hole, the other, same part number, goes into the bottom of the steering column. No way to get behind either.
After some head scratching I went to the fleet store and picked up a couple of 5/8 fine thread nuts and a five inch 5/8 fine bolt. After doing some miner grinding of the shoulders on one nut I fit it into the race in the cast case and using the mig welder I tack welded the nut to the race. Screwing the bolt into the nut until it bottomed in the case I was able to pull the race right out.
Next welded the second nut into the race in the lower column. no need to grind the shoulders on this one. Nothing behind it to use to push this one out. I used our slide hammer which is 5/8 fine thread also. Popped right out.
Kit came with everything needed. .Shims for setting preload on the two bearings I mentioned, seals, ect. picked up on line for about 180.00. Kumar Brothers out of Pennsylvania.
