I've been looking for a dash port for my battery tender. I've seen some mounted on bx's! I really dislike having to open the hood to plug in the tender, just want a neat clean factory look. Anyone have suggestions on where to find one of these? No one locally seems to have one. Thanks in advance!

I dont know for sure but I would guess you could mount a cigette lighter socket and wire it through a fuse to the battery and then plug into that

The battery tender I use on my truck comes with a 8" pigtail lead to plug into (the pigtail plugs into hardwired connection or alligator clips). this makes it easy to install so that the lead is accessible without opening the hood (or removing battery access panel).
The 12V power port would work as a charging port if it is hot with the key off.

Wow!!
That's exactly what I've been looking for. I have a 3 of the expensive ($20.00) Harbor Freight tenders (5 stars my opinion) and they could plug directly into either one of these above. You folks are fantastic!! Thanks for the help.

I used the luggage one for a motor bike.

The 2nd link from above.

It has worked quite well for me.

On my b7100, I used a polarized pigtail zip-tied to the steering column. (see pic, arrow)
On my Rhino, I had already wired the cig lighter socket for a constant 12V 30a, (even with key off) so it was logical to put a cig lighter plug on the battery tender.

I discovered the NOCO Genius chargers on this forum. I now have two and love them.

I just bought this nifty dash jack for my ute. Haven't installed it yet but I really like the NOCO quality.

I love the NOCO brand. I have two chargers. I was thinking about picking up one of these once I install my block heater. I had a hard time finding a suitable cover for the plug that hangs out.

Just be sure that whatever battery charger brand you buy, has a "maintenance mode" which prevents overcharging.

You don't what a standard type battery charger that just charges at 2A (or whatever) continuously as that could overcharge your battery.

Generally, the changers that are called "smart chargers" or "battery tender" have this maintenance mode.

I did something very similar to trapperdrew on my BX.

Drill a hole (making sure you've got sufficient room behind it) and mount the receptacle. Easy. There's several brands/options. Got mine on Amazon for around $20.

FWIW, I also installed a very similar AC port for my block heater. Since I use it so rarely I just mounted it behind the radiator screen.
