First off folks I want to thank you with helping me with my first problem. I only hope this one will be as easy to fix. I bought my standard shift B8200 used and abused and slowly have been fixing it up. It has always had some gear noise and I had attributed it to it just being an old tractor but the more I run it and listen I'm thinking I have a bearing noise in the transmission and it will have to be fixed in the spring. The noise doesn't seem to be affected by running the pto at all. The noise only occurs when the tractor is moving and it sounds like a bearing that is running at high speed. I feel it sounds like it is running and has been running dry and fast for a while. The noise is present in all three gear ranges but less so in the high gear range. I was wondering if these tractors are known for this or what it may take to repair it or what. Any one have any ideas? This noise is getting really really loud.
The only other thought I had was that I was always confused about why there were two fill ports for hydraulic fluid under the seat area. I'm never really sure if I should be putting fluid in one vs the other or if it matters. The Hyd fluid is up on the stick where it should be. Is there a possibility that I just don't have fluid where I should?
