Hi all, I am having a problem with my B7800 and am looking for some help in determine most likely cause and how to correct. The tractor was runnig great, had been using it for over an hour, mowing grass and other small job. I noticed it was low on fuel so I stopped and put the remaining diseal in from a couple of jugs. Get back on and continue.

The problem: After about 5-10 min I noticed the RPM were down; I took off my headphones and could hear the engine running rough, temp guauge was cool. I turned the tractor off, checked the oil, it was good, did not see anything leaking. I turned the tractor back on and same thing, engine running rough so I turned the tractor off for the day. The next day I checked to see if the tractor would crank, it did and ran great for 5-10 minutes then experienced the same rough running so I turned it off.

I assume I have bad fuel or water in the line. Although, it would seem it would not run smooth after sitting overnight. If it is bad fuel/water, I assume I would change fuel filter, drain fuel tank and start with a fresh tank, anything else?

Other thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You can remove the fuel water separator and pour the contents in a clean container. Look for water at the bottom of the fuel. If there is water, it should be apparent. Actually, if there is water in the separator, you should be able to see it through the bowl. If there is enough water, it might act as you described. If there is no water there, it's less likely that your problem is water. The next low hanging fruit is changing the filters.

Are you 100% sure you only put diesel in it, Gasoline mixed in with the diesel in any quantity can cause you to have problems like that.
Also pull the fuel filter and check for water there too.
