B7200HST suction strainer

I***8217;m in the middle of servicing the transmission on my B7200HST. Drained oil and replaced the filter. I put in one gallon of oil and suddenly remembered I hadn***8217;t cleaned the suction filter.

Do I remove this large bolt at the end of the tube to access it and is there anything I should look for when I clean it?

A quick response would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Remove the bolt which is the strainer.

If it has not been removed previously, it will be very tight. You may need to remove the wheel/tire so as to get an impact wrench with 6 point socket onto the bolt. You may also need new O-rings.

Be advised that removing the strainers will allow most but not all of the oil to drain. I expect that your 7200 is similar to my B1750HSD. If so, you will find drain plugs in the final reduction housings that are lower than the suction strainers.

The strainer had very few particles on it. If I detect any seeping around the O rings, I will replace them.

The hydraulic oil looked pretty clean, but not knowing when it was last serviced I’d rather do a complete fluid/filter change on the entire tractor to establish a baseline for future maintenance.

Today was the motor oil & filter as well as the transmission. Tomorrow will be the coolant and front axle and steering box oil.
