B7200 starter no worky

Got the B7200 fired up the other day and the dynamo bearing when out, seazed-up and smoked the fan belt. Got that replaced, now the starter does not work. One thing after another on this little beauty.

On repeated tries the starter will sometimes give a click or two, but mostly nothing. The battery is ok, but I jumped it with another vehicle just to be sure. So, probably just a stuck/bad starter relay? How do I troubleshoot this? I've removed the starter assembly from the tractor already.
Thanks for any info, seems like it should be simple, but I've never delt with this.

Never really closely inspected my starter so I'm not sure if it's possible but have you tried bypassing the solenoid with a booster cable?

If the solenoid is good, you should hear it 'click' every time you turn the switch. Easy enough to check - remove the heavy (load) leads from solenoid, check resistance across the starter (load) side when switch is open/closed. Should be consistent, off, on.

Then put power to the switched side heavy lead - this gives 12 volts directly to the starter, so if it is good it will crank right away. Common problem in the older car starters is the bendix gear/solenoid not engaging properly - I have not had to work on one in quite a few years so I can't say about modern ones.

On mine, the starter is behind the shrouds and very hard to get at.
