Hi, I have a crack/&small hole.250 dia. in the very bottom of my Diff. Case of my B7100DT. Year 1981. I was wondering what other Kubota Diff. Cases (used) might fit on this? I see a 6000 model for sale at a good price and was wondering if anyone might know if this will fit a B7100DT Manual Transmission? I was quoted $1600 for a new one. Many Thanks for any advice anyone might offer. (Even a tip for a solid repair if there is one)? Joe

Without seeing any pictures I'd consider drilling a small 1/8th inch dia. hole at each end of the crack. Clean it all several times with brake cleaner spray, or starting fluid, dry real good with air pressure then fill with a product like JB Weld. Then apply duct tape over the product used to keep it in place for a couple of days without use.

If you have a die grinder with a small carbide tip or possibly a dremel, clean out the crack a bit to allow more material in. You can also push some inward with your fingers to help seal it.

Very little work, no expense, and might just seal it up fine.

Just wondering, after patching it up with the JB Weld, and the area might be prone to be damaged again if you could fiberglass a piece of metal over it. This might reinforce the JB Weld and spread out the force of another impact. Easier then making a skid plate.

You can get one of these and swap the components out.
Yes a B6100 and B7100 are the same case, and a newer case will work in place of an older case. ;)

Or pull your case and have it welded. ;)

This one has a little damage but 100% usable:

This one is better just a little pricey:

The JB weld would be 100% stronger than the original aluminum so no need to add anything else to it. ;)

Ok will give the JB Weld a shot! With the advice you gave. Thank-You. The Tractor Diff I saw for sale was a B6000 not a b6100, are they pretty much the same? Thinking that could be a back-up plan! Thanks again, Joe ***129303;

Years ago I was at a drag strip watching a gorgeous blonde woman run a long gas dragster in the 8-9 sec range. Went to her pit to talk to her and she showed us the car. It had a built 327, with no radiator, and had to be cooled between passes. I noticed a repair on both sides of the block, about 8-10" long, below the deck & above the block drain. Her husband said they found the car in a storage facility in Colorado, where it had been stored with no anti freeze, splitting the block. They bought the car for $400, ground out the cracks to a "vee", cleaned everything, and troweled in JB Weld. The car had been running 20 years on that repair. That was what initially sold me on JB Weld. Good stuff.

No the b6000 is not interchangeable with the b6100's or b7100's

The links I gave you are for the right ones for the B7100.
