Hi all! I just bought a b7100 and noticed the other day that there is what looks like a PTO shaft sticking out the front. It has tighter grooves than the rear PTO shaft. There is no way that I can put a an implement shaft to this because the rad is in the way. What is this mystery shaft? Is it for a pulley? How's it activated?

It is direct drive (unlike most rear PTOs), and is usually used with a front auxiliary pump for a loader. Mine is that way. Probably for other things too, but none come to mind right now.

As well as hydraulic pumps for loaders like Baddog said. Older B7100's used the front pto shaft to drive a belly mounted mower, also snow blowers were powered by the front shaft.

Cool. Thanks. So it just turns all the time? Also, what size of pump do I need to run a loader?
