Hope I've put this question in the right place - I want to operate a log splitter off my gray import B7000.

I was hoping the yellow painted bolt under the seat was access to the hydraulics - but I'm assuming after reading Vic's excellent article that's just for topping up the fluid - and I have to cut into the side pipe and braze on connectors as per the article.

My question's this - when I stop using the log splitter the hydraulics will no longer form a 'circuit' - therefore presumably I have to fit something in between the 2 new connectors to allow the fluid to flow?

Sorry if it's a daft question to those in the know - I'm more of a 4lb lump hammer sort of mechanic.

The yellow topped bolt is for adjusting the lowering speed of the three point arms.

When you tap into the pressure side of the circuit you need to use an open center spool valve for the added control circuit, you will also want to go inline (cut and spice in series) not Parallel the circuit with tee's.
That will allow you to use the added ports and also use the three point too. Also with the open center valve you won't need to do anything with the line other than install quick disconnects to the lines to shut then when not in use.

You need a hydrualic tap block adapter
Part # 70070-00385 $73.26 U.S. price
Makes it real easy to run other equipment.
