Just picked up this B6100E and had a question about getting a little more power out of it. When I have the rear PTO running in 2 or 3, and the tractor in low it will bog down and choke up. Seems to only really like the PTO to be in 1.

One of the injectors has a minor leak that I ordered a new crush washer for, (and will be doing a full fluids/filters maintenance to it asap). Aside from a leaky injector, what should I start looking at to get this old girl running at top notch?

You don't indicate what you're running on your PTO nor what the speeds are. Older tractors had multiple PTO speeds though most current tractors use a 540 rpm PTO. You can generally figure you are trading speed for power. Increasing the PTO speed is probably reducing the available power. It would be kind of like trying to start your car off in third gear instead of first. Of course this is all assuming I understand the complaint correctly.

I'm following Roadworthy's logic as well.

Assume you're running that finish mower that's hooked to it? What RPM is it rated for?

Some older little Kubota's came with multiple PTO speed options from 540-1,000 RPM. 540 is the standard for the vast majority of attachments. There are some exceptions.

Most compact tractors now just come with the 540 PTO.

If set at 1,000 and mower rated for 540, could be subjecting the mower to damage. Certainly won't generate much torgue, even if the mower is rated for that RPM.

Some little early Kubotas also had a counter-clockwise PTO rotation, which is reverse the norm. I think it's just the B6000 model. I think your B6100E is clockwise. Just something to keep in mind as your reading un on your tractor.

I would advise you get an Owner's Manual and Workshop Manual (WSM) for your tractor here. http://kubotabooks.com/

Both are there. The WSM manual is in 3 parts, and is the entire B5100 through B7100 series, including your B6100.

I'm tracking what you're asking Roadworthy. It's a Caroni 48" finishing mower. I found a site that says it's a 540 PTO (Half Shaft). In my opinion it looks like it could use a good service too, but that's a project for a different day.

So if I'm following what RCW is saying the 6100E should be fine to power this finishing mower. I did find the high/low settings and the tractor did better in low.

Still wondering what all I should be looking at on the motor to help improve this little thing for the long haul.

Still wondering what all I should be looking at on the motor to help improve this little thing for the long haul.
All fluids along with OE Kubota filters from a dealer (Colemans or Messicks). Ebay and Amazon are flooded with counterfeits. All lube points and anything else listed in the maintenance section of the WSM that RCW sent you.

Ordered a full set of filters and a crush washer for a leaky injector from Messicks, and they came in quick. Hoping to get to change all the fluids, filters, and all this weekend. Thanks for the pointers and resources everyone. That owners manual is an awesome resource!
