Hi, I’m rebuilding the engine on my 6100 and just found a D950-BG1 engine for potentially a great price.

I understand the typical changes needed to engine swap to the D950 (thanks for all the great write ups on this topic)

Is the BG1 any different? It looks like it came off a generator. This engine is being sold with its starter, exhaust, alternator, and radiator.

thanks in advance
Roy

Governor etc. will be different on a fixed speed engine.

You will need to change the governor, governor linkage and possibly the fuel cam if it doesn't have the drive for the hydraulic pump.
You can pull everything off the D650 and use it, as they are the same parts.
