Hi all! I've been lurking around here for a while now. Quick post with pics of my B6100 engine.
I bought the tractor a few years ago. Always hard starts and was leaking oil from the rear of the head(o'ring missing.) The previous owner but a new head on etc. So I finally got tired of the hard starts and did a compression test.
#1. 280lbs #2. 220lbs #3. 250lbs
So that was not good...
Enter the Local Amish Engine Builder.lol I'm in the middle of tearing down the old barn, building a new 30x50 shop and putting an addition on and renovating the 150 year old house so zero time to fix the tractor.
He split the tractor and tore the engine down. I ordered 3 new cylinder liners (ouch) and took the block to a reputable machine shop. He polished the crank, installed and machined the liners and decked the block(more ouch).
Block back to the Amish version of Smokey Yunick and he likes what he sees. So in a few days we will see how it turns out...

#1 you need to know exactly how much he took off the deck, it's supercritical with these.
you will need to adjust the timing shims and possibly a head gasket shim.

New liners was a great start but putting old pistons and old rings back in are going to give you really bad results, you need new pistons and new rings, and throw all the bearings and seals in it too.

Thanks for the heads up. The engine is running pretty good. Smokey(white) start up though. I will ask the Machine shop owner how much he took off the block. Shimming will help the starts I hope?
