Here's a newbie question. How can I tell if my tractor has a hydrostatic transmission or not? What are the tell tale signs looking at it? I am pretty sure I have the B6100 DT.

my b6100 hste has a foot rocker pedal for forward and reverse. but also a clutch pedal. you select high or low range, let out of the clutch and ease into the rocker pedal for foward or reverse

The manual transmission will have a shifter in the middle of the transmission tunnel, with 3 speeds and reverse. It will also have a high and low shift lever. The hydrostatic has no shifter in the middle of the transmission, but uses a foot pedal on the right side, just above the floorboard, for forward and reverse. It is hard to confuse the two, but as stated, both have a clutch pedal on the left.

In the simplest terms a Hydrostatic is like driving an automatic vehicle. A non-hydro has a gear shift.
