I just bought a b6000. I got it home and was checking some things out on it one of which was topping off the radiator with anti-freeze. Soon I noticed a water leak at the rear of the engine. Because of the shield I cannot tell whether it is simply a gasket leak or if the head is actually cracked. I bought some Bart's Metallic Block Seal Intake & Radiator Stop Leak to see if I could stop the leak. However, before trying this I thought I would see if someone had a better idea.
I finally got to investigate further this situation. Indeed, the freeze plug (plug belch, in the parts book), was leaking. As a matter of fact, I barely had to tap the edge of the plug with a screwdriver before it just fell out. I have two questions:
1. I checked at TractorSmart.com for the part (#06311-75028). The cost for this replacement part is $0.20. The shipping via UPS is almost $10.00! Surely USPS would be less expensive for such a quarter-size part! Does anyone know of a parts co. that would mail this inexpensive part to me?
2. Once I receive this part, how should I go about installing it?
Thanks for any and all help.
