I recently picked up a B5100E and it doesn't have the optional hour meter. I would would like to add one and I figure I might as well add a tachometer too. Anyone have any advice? What tach? how to run the tach? etc... Thanks!

Twostep, take a look at this thread first to find out more on just the Hour meter.

Now the tach, little more complicated. that tractor has the D750 engine doesnt it? might look at tiny tach. other possibilities exist but this is easiest.

what part of Ky you in? I like the rear wheel weights. Ive been trying hard to find a set!

I stand corrected, that engine should be a Z-500E, 2 cyl.

Correct, it's the Z500. I've seen the tiny tach and that would work but I would really like to have an analog style tach... just not sure how to run one off the diesel. I've read some run off the alternator, flywheel, and of course some are gear/cable driven.

This is exactly the type of meter I would like to have, what I mean by that is it has the needle for the tach and the hour meter below it:
Ford-LGT14D-LGT-14D-Diesel-Tach

The weights came on it when I bought it. they are two piece. The rear wheels are mounted inside out right now so does that mean that these weights are meant to be mounted between the wheel and tractor, in other words on the inside of the wheel??? Also the PO had hung two wheel weights on the front to help counter the weight of the finish mower. They are cast but not sure what they fit on... look like maybe 12" rims

I'm currently in Lexington but next week we are supposed to be closing on our new house between Richmond and Berea. I'm originally from Grayson Co though. How about you?

Look around the front of the block next to the Inj pump. Is there a diamond/square plate with 4 bolts? Let me know back on that.

I'm in dawson springs (hopkins cty), down between madisonville and hopkinsville. I've got a nephew in Lex and my daughter goes to georgetown college.

Yes the two piece can be used with the wheels turned around/ put on with wheels on in the inside. Do the "extra" weights have a tri-angle bolt pattern, have any notches, 3, around the rim?

I'll check this weekend (it's being stored at the new house) about the plate and the weights.

Cool, small world. My wife has some family down around Hopkinsville and Trenton.

The extra weights have 4 bolt holes and two semi-circle notches. They are about 14.25" OD and probably weight 30 lbs each... I couldn't find any names but there is a long string of numbers cast into them as well as a symbol that almost looks like the IH emblem. They are so rusted that it's hard to tell for certain. Also one has "L1" and the other has "L2" cast into them. Mean anything to you?

btw, I'll check that plate on the inj pump tonight.
