Today I finally mounted the 5' cutter on the B3350 to try it out. (Love it!)

As expected, I will need front weights to use it in all the places where I plan to do so.

I have a complete set of 5 front weights and the front weight bracket for it (great CL find about a month ago) but have not yet installed any.

Knowing that I could not install front weights with the FEL in place, my plan was to install the front weight bracket (must remove the grill guard to do this) and leave it in place to serve as a bumper, FEL installed or not. Unfortunately, this is not possible, as not only the weights but also the weight bracket interferes with the FEL. I would like to avoid installing/removing both the weights and the weight bracket each spring/fall when I remove/install the mower and FEL.

Todays trial tells me that 3 front weights will suffice for my purposes.

The owners manual clearly states on page 58 that 3 front weights can be installed without the front weight bracket but that the front weight bracket must be used to install 4 or 5 weights. This is consistent with my L6060 (4 weights can be hung on the grill guard but the front weight bracket is needed to install 5, 6, or 7) or my B1750 (3 weights can be installed on the tractor frame but front weight bracket needed for more).

Herein, lies the dilemma. The grill guard for the B3350 has no provision for hanging any weights. Moreover, the front frame does not have the horizontal cross piece with holes to support the front weight tab and provide provision for the weight mounting bolts. Many other Kubota models do have this horizontal cross piece, which is necessary to mount front weights absent a front weight bracket, which has such cross piece.

Neither I nor my dealer know how to install any weights on a B3350 without the front weight bracket, despite what is clearly stated on page 58 of the owners manual. My dealer has been attempting to get information from Kubota about this for about a week without success.

I suspect an error in the owners manual but am not yet ready to throw in the towel.

Anyone have any thoughts?
