On Saturday, I blew a hydraulic tube on my la434 on my B2650. Not a hose but the tube. I am of average mechanical aptitude but have virtually no hydraulic knowledge so I am trying to determine what I am in for. Is there anything I should check or be aware of it if I decide to tackle this job myself? Do I have to bleed the system to remove the air from the new tube. The closest dealer is over 70 miles away.

The line blew just within the first inch of the tube. I was just curling the bucket and it blew.

If you can get a replacement hard line, it should be pretty straight forward.

Don't use teflon tape on connections. Use liquid sealant.

After replacement, move the loader through all motions a couple times to bleed air out.

I'd also wonder why the hard line blew over a hose as I'm pretty sure the hard lines are rated for higher pressures. Was it damaged or kinked? Don't be worried about hydraulics as they are fairly easy to learn if you have a decent mechanical knowledge. Just make sure the machine is off and the pressure on the lines has been relieved before doing any work. Also, make sure to check your hydraulic fluid level after you replace the lines and work the joystick a bit to make sure it's within the acceptable range.

Did you buy the loader after you got the tractor? I thought B2650’s only came with LA534 and B2601 came with LA434?

Can you see any specific defect in the line that blew? Maybe get (or make) a pressure gauge to see what your system is putting out. Do you notice the relief valve squealing frequently?

As posted above, I don't think bleeding the system will be difficult other than cycling a few times. It may be detailed in the owners manual.

A pic of the break would probably help with diagnosis and repair advice. We're guessing if it was at a weld, braze, crimp, or tee. Hard straight undamaged lines rarely fail.
